In addition, the verse along with the name A ḥ mad is also present in several earlier manuscripts, including Arabe 328(b), which is datable to the 1 st century AH/7 th century CE (Figure 5). Meanwhile, the name A ḥ mad in Q61:6 can be found on line 5 of the next page of the same manuscript (Figure 4). It is clear that Rob confused verse 5 with verse 6! The words ilaykum and fa-lammā highlighted by Rob in the video are actually from Q61:5, not Q61:6. Second, Rob is looking at the wrong place in the manuscript. It is actually a manuscript from Cairo, Egypt that has been attributed to the caliph ʿUthmān, and is known as the “ Husseini Mushaf”. First, the manuscript Rob showed in the video is not the Sana’a manuscript.

There are several problems with these claims.

Rob claims that the words ilaykum and fa-lammā are next to each other in the Sana’a manuscript, but in today’s Qurʾān, an entire sentence, which includes the name A ḥ mad, is present between these two words (Figure 2).
